Dogs are with us for a short time in our lives, but to them, we are their whole life.
We use the "Best Fit" application process rather than "First come, first served". We want our dogs and adopters to be the best match possible.
There are 4 steps we take when adopting out our dogs and puppies: 1. All applications are forwarded to the Foster. The Foster reviews each application and contacts the applicants that appear to be best suited for the dog.
2. A meet and greet will be scheduled when all household members of the applicants home can attend; this includes their dog(s) if applicable. The first meet may happen at the Foster's home or at a neutral location like a park.
3. The Foster will then contact the first choice applicant to set up a home check at the applicant's residence with all people and pets present.
4. The Foster will decide, based on best fit, if there will be an offer of adoption. The Foster will arrange for a final visit at the applicants home along with the LPDR Adoption Coordinator to finalize the adoption.
